Suzanne Day

Winter Scene
Suzanne Day had her first painting lesson on a wharf in St. Margaret’s Bay in 1998 while her son took sailing lessons during a summer vacation. She taught French in Ontario for 26 years before retiring and moving back to her native Nova Scotia in 2005.

She has studied watercolour and acrylic painting for thirteen years and has been a member of North Brampton Water-colour Society in Ontario (1998-2005) and the Aspotogan Arts and Crafts in Nova Scotia (2006-2011).  She has exhibited her work in Brampton City Hall, the Beaux Arts Brampton Gallery, in many Aspotogan Arts and Crafts shows and other local venues.  Her work can be found in collections across Canada, in the United States and in Europe.

Suzanne paints in her home art studio which has a panoramic view of St. Margaret’s Bay.  Her work depicts coastal scenes and local activities such as sailing races and lobster fishing.  She loves to paint shorebirds, beach stones and seaside flowers.  She paintings capture the many moods and seasons of the bay.

Suzanne is one of the artists you will find in “ Paint Peggy’s Cove” July 2 and 3, 2011 and at Bay hammocks during our Open Studio Weekend. During the month of August  Suzanne will be showing her work at the Trellis Cafe in Hubbards.

You can view more of her work here or contact her at msaday@eastlink.ca
